The 88 is a four-piece rock/pop band from LA that blends British Invasion melodies with an instrumental approach that recalls David Bowie and other '70s rock icons. The band has appeared in numerous ads and TV shows, including performances on The Late Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly and "How I Met Your Mother." "It's a fairly safe bet to assume that the band will realize a respectable level of notoriety, the very kind of notoriety that L.A. is built on. For good reason, too - the 88 makes the sort of effortless, embraceable pop that can easily flatter whatever tainted image its hometown harbors." Pop Matters. "On their superslick major-label debut (which features a few tunes produced by R&B maestro Babyface), it's easy to hear what attracted Hollywood and Madison Avenue: These glammy rave-ups -- imagine Mika fronting Maroon 5 -- conjure big emotions without getting mired in tawdry realities." SPIN online.

The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra
(known to some as FTO) makes idiosyncratic pop songs with intricate instrumentation and lush male/female vocal harmonies. "FTO's undeniably strong pop sensibilities [force] them apart from the rest of the trendy herd. Unexpected quirks, richly textured layers and obviously keen musicianship keep this band grounded while others drift into musical oblivion. OC Weekly. "Filled with dreamy pop anthems, The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra's Escapements is delightfully eclectic as their name sounds. Strings, chimes, Camera Obscura-esque guitar riffs, and driving drums come together in enticing staccato rhythms and are then balanced with just enough delicateness to spell out a genuine pop feeling throughout the entire EP.

Beth Feldman is a former network television executive and the founder of, an online community and events company dedicated to inspiring, empowering and enabling today's busy mothers to pursue their passion while raising a family. Beth's new book, See Mom Run, is an anthology that captures all the harried moments of moms lives with candor, wit and a little wisdom thrown in for good measure.

Matt Dwyer hosts.
HOST MATT DWYER is a comedian, actor and writer who co-hosts "Sinking Radio" every Friday from Noon to 2:00 PM on Matt was part of Second City, has performed one man shows at the UCB Theater in NYC and has appeared in a number of independent movies and television shows, including "Surviving the Holidays w/Lewis Black."

We hope to see you and your rockers this SATURDAY December 5th at 1PM at The Echo.

Don't Say I Didn't Warn You - Kids, Carbs, and the Coming Hormonal Apocalypse - Anita Renfroe's latest book is a must read!

The YouTube sensation and Good Morning America contributor
offers her funny, outrageous—and on the money—take on all things female
Kids, Carbs, and the Coming Hormonal Apocalypse

By Anita Renfroe

She’s no June Cleaver. She doesn’t claim to be Carol Brady. But she can sing everything a mother says to her children in a single day to the tune of “The William Tell Overture” in just two minutes and fifty-five seconds. Described as “this generation’s Erma Bombeck,” Good Morning America contributor and YouTube sensation Anita Renfroe has no problem telling it like it is, and she does so in her hilarious new book, DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU: Kids, Carbs, and the Coming Hormonal Apocalypse (Voice; September 29, 2009; Hardcover; $22.99).

In her irreverent collection of essays, this stand-up comedian and mother of three turns her boldly accurate comic eye to female conditions. In chapters with names like “To Regift or Not to Regift (Or, If Only the Wise Men Had Known About Gift Cards)” and “Playing Favorites (Or, As a Matter of Fact, I Do Love Your Brother More),” she dares to speak what other women are thinking—but cannot say out loud. Renfroe offers up her deeply funny and relatable takes on everything from weddings to mammograms to every woman’s never-ending quest for just one good photo of herself.

Renfroe’s mission is to make every woman feel empowered; her motto echoes the phrase “If you’ve got it, flaunt it!” She affirms that you are not alone in navigating trying circumstances that every woman undoubtedly experiences at some point in her life, such as:

· Fear of fat…and love of sweets
· The great sport of grocery-store shopping
· Retail therapy and our need for the perfect purse
· Facing age head-on and embracing your best self

In DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU, Renfroe is a true performer. Well-loved by women’s groups across the country even before YouTube delivered her infectious stand-up routines, her exceptionally sharp wit and boundless creativity have engaged millions of viewers—and there is no doubt that readers will be captivated as well.

All too often, we walk on eggshells. We keep our thoughts to ourselves so as not to offend others. DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU reminds us all to take ourselves less seriously. Simultaneously uproarious and honest, this virtuoso performance will establish Renfroe as a comedic voice to be contended with: what she says, goes. So, don’t say we didn’t warn you.

ANITA RENFROE is wife to her hunka burnin’ love, John, and mother to three
(semi-grown) children. When they are not standing at the luggage carousel in various airports looking for their bags so she can put on clean clothes and get to the next comedy concert, they reside in suburban Atlanta, where sweet tea is always on the menu.

Check out to find out more about Anita Renfroe and her new book.

Rocking my OWN House!! Taking Guitar lessons with the incredible....

...Ronny North at Hot House Recording Studios!! Started lessons with Ronny on Monday and I learned so how much practice I need! I just started an all women band and we are having a blast. We have a short-term goal of playing at the next Mamapalooza (GULP! Less than 3 months away!) - May 3, 2009 at the UC Irvine campus, coordinated by yours truly....I better go practice!! My wonderful kids and incredible husband ROCK my world and keep cheering me on during this rockin' journey! And I actually think I might be able to convert Ronny from junkfood junkster, lover of fast food to some great vegetarian eats at Mother's Market. He actually liked the Inferno Wrap I brought him!

Getting ready for Mamapalooza 2009!

Can't wait for Mamapalooza 2009 at the UC Irvine Campus! Great family-friendly entertainment featuring some new talent this year...The Raymies, who blew me away at NAMM, and the incredible Cambria Detken who sold out the OC Pavilion! ....did I mention she is 16?!

Momz Rock the House heads to NAMM!

I have spent the past few days at NAMM and it has been incredible! Yesterday, I was blown away by all of the music products and companies. I think I read that over 85,000 people attend NAMM. There is one guitar company after the next, rooms filled with artists wailing on drums, guitars, and whatever instruments and musical devices they can get their hands on. Appearances by major artists in the industry meeting fans, etc.

And then there is the INCREDIBLE DAISY ROCK BOOTH!! Check out my pictures on ( and and you'll get a little glimpse of just how amazing this has been. They also have a stage where so far I have seen Absinthe, Janet Robin, The Raymies and....The Bangles!! Just one of these amazing days...and then to meet the Bangles was icing on the cake. Loved the HUGE birthday cake Daisy Rock ordered for two of the band members. The crowd waiting for autographs got a chance to eat cake and get signed pictures and Daisy Rock catalogues. The place was packed. Stay tuned for more!
