KBPK (Saturday at 10pm pst), special guest Laura Roppe, author of ROCKING the PINK, will join the show! Laura is a singer/songwriter, mother/wife, and former attorney from San Diego, California, who only recently decided to follow her dreams in earnest. She is a true testament to the power of purs...uing your dreams even when faced with the unimaginable. She switched careers after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer in 2008-2009 and since then, she's been unstoppable. Roppé emerged from her breast cancer treatments just in time to walk the red carpet at the 2009 Los Angeles Music Awards in Hollywood, where she won the award for “Song of the Year.” In 2011, following the release of Roppé’s second album, I’m Still Here, which she wrote during her cancer treatments, Billboard Magazine ranked her #5 on their “Best of 2011” year-end chart of the top fifty emerging artists in the world. One of her music videos also surpassed 1,000,000 hits on Youtube.
