“The Taste of Ladera began as a way for businesses and nonprofits to come together and raise awareness for the community,” said Michelle Patterson, Founder. “Now in its fifth year, we have seen the event expand with thousands of attendees flocking to Founders Park to have fun. This event is a vehicle for the charities involved to raise money for their organizations, and I’m very proud to see that our community cares so much¾ it’s definitely unlike any other “taste” in the country.” Patterson, who resides in Ladera Ranch, started the festival as a vehicle to raise funds for several community nonprofits in need. Her enthusiasm and philanthropy has positioned Taste of Ladera as “a hot ticket event” with support from local eateries, city officials and surrounding cities that border Ladera Ranch.
Taste of Ladera also has a great line-up of entertainment for all ages. On Saturday, May 2nd, rock out to tribute band No Duh channeling front lady Gwen Stefani with songs made famous by No Doubt. Then rounding out the night is 90’s favorite band Sugar Ray whose hits include “Fly” and “Every Morning.”
Sunday, Taste of Ladera will feature a special “family day” where the entertainment is ready with mom’s rockin’ the house on stage and teen sensations getting everyone on their feet. Hosted by Janeane Bernstein, DJ/Host of “Moms Rockin’ the House” on KUCI 89.9 FM (Thursday’s 10am-12pm PST), the program is dedicated to amazing moms and their kids with a Mamapalooza party featuring groups like the Raymies, Ladera’s Got Talent and Cambria Detken. Headlining the show is Hollywood U2, the world’s ultimate tribute to U2. There’s even more entertainment at the Swirlz Family Fun Zone with carousel rides, spinning teacups, a dunk tank and jumbo slides for the adventurous.
It’s a great mix of food, music and fun with a 90’s inspired theme that you won’t wanna miss. Rocking my OWN House!! Taking Guitar lessons with the incredible....
...Ronny North at Hot House Recording Studios!! Started lessons with Ronny on Monday and I learned so much...like how much practice I need! I just started an all women band and we are having a blast. We have a short-term goal of playing at the next Mamapalooza (GULP! Less than 3 months away!) - May 3, 2009 at the UC Irvine campus, coordinated by yours truly....I better go practice!! My wonderful kids and incredible husband ROCK my world and keep cheering me on during this rockin' journey! And I actually think I might be able to convert Ronny from junkfood junkster, lover of fast food to some great vegetarian eats at Mother's Market. He actually liked the Inferno Wrap I brought him!

Getting ready for Mamapalooza 2009!
